“I was gunna.” Yes, misspelled but accurate. And I hear it every day. All the things we “was gunna” do, but never got around to them. We woulda and we shoulda, if only we coulda.
And we woulda done it. Except that our children stop us from being normal functioning adults in the world, hence we can accomplish nothing. And exhausted I am, why can’t we sleep all day long? There’s no time and no energy.
Enter a history full of celebrity viewing, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and nonsense. But maybe that’s the solution for the time that fleets? Block all of these needless, time-sucking, brain power reducing pieces of garbage from ourselves. No no, that would take a lot of willpower. Too much willpower.
I’d like to eat some junk food, and then more. Where is my energy? Why do I only want to sleep? Coffee will help, until it stops working and then I’ll be worse.
I know I shoulda done something about it and I was gunna.
And someday, without change, an entire life will pass by with the things we coulda, shoulda, and woulda accomplished. All the times we said “I was gunna” and never did a damn thing about it.
If you look around and see that more people are getting more things done on accident than you are on purpose, it’s time to see what the heck is going wrong.
