Welcome to the page about Corey Morong.
If you’ve made it this far, you probably already know that my name is Corey Morong. Here is some other stuff about me.
To be in touch:
You can send an e-mail here. I am no longer on social media, realizing it wasn’t fitting into my minimalist lifestyle. It’s not that you can’t do both, but I realize it’s tough not falling into the vortex that is social media.
I text. If you know my number, feel free to text. I call. See “texting” for the number.
And now… about me:
I love music. I’ll listen to almost every kind of music, depending on the situation and my mood.
I’ve enjoyed learning to try new things. Be it a new kind of music, food, or concept, I have opened my mind to trying new stuff and it has been very rewarding. Try new things.
I love the weather. I’m a weather nerd. I love tracking severe weather and keeping people safe and updated during storms. Unlike most, I like the rain (within reason). It is refreshing to me.
I’m from Maine and I love it here, mostly. I’ve moved away and come back, but couldn’t really imagine living anywhere else, at least not permanently. I lived in Des Moines, Iowa for a year and spent another in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. I’ve been to 36 of the United States, most of which I visited during my days working in hockey.
Oh yeah, I used to work in professional hockey. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. I worked for the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Portland Pirates, Iowa Chops, and Worcester Sharks. Fun fact, I was a part of the Iowa Chops only season before they went defunct (at least I thought it was fun). Anyways, I was an assistant equipment manager during most of this time and enjoyed working in this capacity while I did. I spent seven seasons doing this and learned a lot, before deciding to settle down a bit.
I’ve spent 15 years working in the Recreation field. And I love it. Kids are amazing, and so are the young adults I work with. I’ve been everything from a Counselor in Training to a Director and Programmer. I love being able to teach the things I have learned from others and helping to make an impact in the lives of many people. My title is currently a Recreation Programmer, but that really doesn’t mean too much to me. I like putting on all the hats and being a camper sometimes and a leader at others.
A lot of people kept telling me I should write a book, so last year I wrote a bunch of them.
Click here if you’d like to see them. Don’t click if you don’t want to. If you click on a book image it will bring you to Amazon. If you click buy you will buy one. If you buy one I greatly appreciate it. But seriously, you might (hopefully) take some cool lessons away from the books as well. I have contemplated turning these into hard cover books, but considering myself a minimalist now I try to steer away from physical things when possible. Besides the books, I decided to make a website to help others and will continue to play around with ways to enhance the lives of others.
