Please take this only as one man’s opinion. It might be just that, but I feel it’s worth expressing. I’ve never understood people trying so hard to be beautiful. To me, when thinking of women in particular, the less they try the more beautiful they are. Maybe beauty is really skin deep…
The new haircut, the added makeup, the new look. It’s interesting how often I hear people say something to the effect of, “Why would they do that? They’re naturally gorgeous.” So then, why do that?
I’ve heard the “cycle of haircuts”. Oftentimes we get a haircut and are unsure about what we think of it for a time. For a good three days it seems just perfect, as if we’ve perfected the style for the length. Then, it’s time for another haircut. The cycle continues.
It’s safe to say that the women in my world are more beautiful when they apply the least amount of effort. I find myself in tough situations because I’m often too honest. “What do you think of my haircut?” When somebody asks me this question I won’t tell them I hate it or anything, but I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to mention how much I liked it before. At times I’ll likely say something to the effect of, “I’m sure it just takes getting used to.” Deep down my goal is not to offend, but if I tried to lie and say “I love it” and my heart didn’t believe it, it would be too damn obvious. Of course, there’s the topic of “be honest” vs. “appease me”, and sometimes you just can’t win. Either way women, it’s a loaded question.
I don’t understand makeup, but I do understand less can be more in all areas of life. I guess what I’m trying to express is to explore and be satisfied with just being you.
